Overview:
One of Vivid Resourcing’s Local Authority clients in the North West is seeking a Trading Standards Officer to join their team for 6 months (option to extend).
Key Responsibilities:
Join a dedicated team of Trading Standards Officers committed to ensuring food safety and quality in Somerset. In this role, you will be responsible for enforcing a comprehensive range of food safety legislation, including:
- Responding to complaints and enquiries from the public and businesses regarding food safety issues.
- Undertaking proactive inspections and initiatives to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and promote consumer protection.
- Sampling food products to verify quality, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Inspecting local businesses to ensure adherence to food safety regulations, including hygiene practices, labelling, and trace-ability.
- Investigating alleged food safety offences to uphold public health standards and protect consumers.
