Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Freelance Test Lead to join an established servicing organisation based in Brussels. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on testing professional who can take ownership of the testing strategy and execution while driving the introduction and adoption of automated testing across the organisation.
The successful candidate will combine strong test leadership capabilities with a willingness to remain actively involved in day-to-day testing activities. You will play a key role in improving the organisation’s testing processes, establishing best practices and introducing automation to increase efficiency, quality and consistency across the delivery lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the overall testing approach, strategy and execution across business-critical applications.
- Lead and coordinate testing activities, ensuring appropriate coverage across functional, integration, regression and end-to-end testing.
- Remain hands-on with test execution, including the preparation, creation and execution of test cases and scenarios.
- Work closely with development teams, business analysts, project managers and other stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Assess the current testing landscape and identify opportunities to improve existing processes, tools and methodologies.
- Introduce and implement an automated testing strategy, identifying suitable tools and frameworks within the Microsoft technology ecosystem.
- Drive the rollout and adoption of test automation, moving the organisation towards a more efficient and repeatable testing approach.
- Establish testing standards, governance, reporting and quality assurance practices.
- Manage defect identification, prioritisation, tracking and resolution.
- Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to colleagues, helping to develop testing capabilities and promote a quality-driven culture.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working as a Test Lead, Senior Test Analyst or Test Manager within complex IT environments.
- Strong hands-on experience in software testing, rather than purely strategic or managerial test leadership.
- Good knowledge and experience working within the Microsoft technology stack.
- Demonstrable experience introducing, implementing and rolling out automated testing solutions.
- Understanding of test automation frameworks, tools and best practices.
- Strong experience across functional, integration, regression and end-to-end testing.
- Experience developing test strategies, test plans, test scenarios and test cases.
- Comfortable working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in both French and Dutch.
