We are currently recruiting for an experienced Tenancy Relations Officer to join a local authority housing team on a contract basis.
This role plays a key part in supporting tenants and landlords within the private rented sector, ensuring compliance with housing legislation and protecting tenant rights. You will be responsible for investigating cases of illegal eviction and harassment, advising on legal matters, and acting as a point of contact to resolve tenancy-related disputes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate complaints of illegal eviction and landlord harassment
- Provide advice to tenants and landlords on housing law and rights
- Support enforcement action in line with relevant legislation
- Handle tenancy-related disputes and casework
- Work in accordance with the Protection from Eviction Act 1977 and upcoming Renters Rights legislation
Requirements:
- PACE-trained or experience conducting interviews under caution
- Strong understanding of housing law and tenancy rights
- Background in Private Sector Housing, Tenancy Relations, or Fraud Investigation
- Experience working within a local authority setting is desirable
- DBS required
