BUYER – ST NIKLAAS (BELGIUM) – PERMANENT POSITION
We are currently recruiting a Buyer to work in the renewable energy industry.
In this role, you will support both R&D and purchasing teams in sourcing and procuring sustainable goods and services.
Your primary responsibility will be to assist in managing supplier relationships, processing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of products that align with a commitment to environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in identifying and evaluating suppliers of renewable materials and sustainable products to source quality goods at competitive prices.
- Support the purchasing team in negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers focused on renewable energy solutions.
- Process purchase orders and ensure accuracy in pricing, quantities, and delivery schedules, with an emphasis on sustainability.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels in the procurement system.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in forecasting to prevent stock shortages or excess, while considering sustainability practices.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand their purchasing needs and requirements related to renewable energy projects.
- Research market trends in renewable energy and analyze data to inform purchasing decisions.
- Assist in resolving any issues related to orders, deliveries, or product quality, with a focus on maintaining supplier partnerships.
- Participate in supplier evaluations and performance assessments, particularly regarding sustainability practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Environmental Studies, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or inventory management preferred, ideally within the renewable energy sector.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with procurement software or ERP systems is a plus.
- Fluent/native Dutch speaker; proficiency in English is a plus.
- Passion for sustainability and renewable energy initiatives.
