We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to provide high-quality care and support within the community. This role involves working with a diverse range of individuals, including elderly people, those with physical or learning disabilities, and individuals with mental health needs.
As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in promoting independence, dignity, and overall wellbeing, enabling service users to live as independently as possible within their own homes and local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred support tailored to individual needs and preferences
- Assist with personal care where required, including washing, dressing, and toileting
- Support with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, medication prompts, and light household duties
- Encourage and assist individuals to access the community, attend appointments, and engage in social activities
- Build positive and respectful relationships with service users and their families
- Follow care plans and risk assessments to ensure safe and effective support
- Observe and report any changes in health or behaviour
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality policies at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care or support role is desirable but not essential
- A caring, patient, and empathetic nature
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexible and reliable with a commitment to delivering high standards of care
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
- Experience supporting elderly individuals, people with disabilities, or mental health conditions
- Medication administration training
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred but not essential)
