Housing Support Worker (Part Time)

Location – North East

Length of contract – 7 Months

Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to provide high-quality care and support within the community. This role involves working with a diverse range of individuals, including elderly people, those with physical or learning disabilities, and individuals with mental health needs.

As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in promoting independence, dignity, and overall wellbeing, enabling service users to live as independently as possible within their own homes and local community.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred support tailored to individual needs and preferences
  • Assist with personal care where required, including washing, dressing, and toileting
  • Support with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, medication prompts, and light household duties
  • Encourage and assist individuals to access the community, attend appointments, and engage in social activities
  • Build positive and respectful relationships with service users and their families
  • Follow care plans and risk assessments to ensure safe and effective support
  • Observe and report any changes in health or behaviour
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality policies at all times

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a care or support role is desirable but not essential
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic nature
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible and reliable with a commitment to delivering high standards of care

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting elderly individuals, people with disabilities, or mental health conditions
  • Medication administration training
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred but not essential)
