About the role
Our client, a manufacturing organisation, is looking for a Space Management Expert to join them in Dresden on a contract basis. The role focuses on the planning, allocation and optimisation of space across a large industrial site, making sure available areas are used effectively and in line with operational needs.
You will work with site, facilities, engineering and project teams to understand how space is used today and how requirements are changing. The position suits someone who is comfortable working independently, balancing competing demands for space and presenting clear, practical recommendations to stakeholders at different levels.
The successful candidate will bring sound experience in space and facilities management, good judgement and a structured approach to data. This is a hands-on assignment where your experience will be put to work from the outset.
Main responsibilities
- Manage the allocation and planning of space across the site, in line with operational and strategic requirements
- Maintain accurate space records, floor plans and occupancy data
- Assess space requests from business units and projects, and recommend practical solutions
- Analyse space utilisation and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Support layout planning, relocations and changes of use in coordination with facilities and engineering teams
- Work with project teams to make sure space needs are considered early in the planning of new installations and changes
- Produce reports, dashboards and presentations on space usage, availability and forecasts
- Keep space management systems and data up to date and consistent
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, contractors and third parties to deliver space-related changes
- Support compliance with relevant site, safety and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Relevant experience in space management, facilities management, workplace planning or a comparable discipline
- Experience managing space allocation and occupancy in a large or complex site environment
- Experience with space management or CAFM systems and floor plan data
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn utilisation data into clear recommendations
- Experience coordinating with engineering, facilities and project stakeholders
- Good communication skills, with the confidence to engage with stakeholders at different levels
- Good organisation and the ability to manage a varied workload
- The ability to work in Dresden
