About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to support the delivery of several 20–25 MW solar PV projects across the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy.
The successful candidate will have proven experience managing PV projects in Italy and will be responsible for coordinating project activities, stakeholders, contractors, and project deliverables to ensure successful execution.
This is a 12-month freelance assignment, starting in November 2026, offering a flexible hybrid working model. The role will require an initial period of on-site onboarding, after which the position will be predominantly remote, with travel to project sites across Emilia-Romagna as required.
Key Responsibilities
Take overall responsibility for the project management and coordination of assigned PV projects.
Manage project activities from development and construction through to completion.
Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
Monitor project schedules, milestones, budgets, and deliverables.
Identify project risks, issues, and potential delays, and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
Lead regular project meetings and ensure effective communication between all parties.
Monitor construction progress and contractor performance.
Ensure project activities are delivered in accordance with agreed timelines, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
Support the resolution of technical, commercial, construction, and contractual issues.
Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and project records.
Ensure compliance with relevant Italian regulations, standards, permits, and project requirements.
Provide regular progress reports and updates to senior management and project stakeholders.
Coordinate activities across multiple projects and locations within the Emilia-Romagna region.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager / Project Manager within the renewable energy sector.
Strong, demonstrable experience delivering solar PV projects in Italy.
Experience with utility-scale PV projects, ideally in the 20–25 MW range or larger.
Strong understanding of solar project development, construction, project controls, and delivery.
Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and multiple project stakeholders.
Strong organisational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment.
Fluent in Italian or English; proficiency in both languages would be an advantage.
Willingness to travel to project sites across Emilia-Romagna as required.
Availability to start in November 2026.
Ability to work on a freelance / self-employed / P.IVA basis.
