Senior Planning Policy Officer
Local Authority | 6-Month Rolling Contract | £40-£50 per hour DOE | Hybrid (1 Day per Week in Office)
We are working with a Local Authority seeking an experienced Senior Planning Policy Officer to provide additional capacity within their Planning Policy team during a critical stage of Local Plan preparation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a planning policy professional with recent Local Authority experience to play a key role in progressing an emerging Local Plan through the Regulation 19 stage, supporting consultation responses and helping prepare the authority for submission and examination.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the progression of the Local Plan through the Regulation 19 stage.
- Review, assess and respond to consultation representations received during the Regulation 19 consultation period.
- Draft consultation response reports, topic papers and supporting evidence documents.
- Assist with preparing documentation for submission and examination.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, consultants and senior officers on planning policy matters.
- Contribute to policy development and ensure compliance with current planning legislation and national policy.
- Support member briefings and stakeholder engagement where required.
