About the Role
An established and growing independent planning and development consultancy based in Stratford-upon-Avon is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Town Planner to join its team.
The consultancy provides professional planning advice to a diverse range of private and public sector clients, including landowners, developers, businesses, individuals and other organisations. Its work covers a broad range of development projects, including residential, commercial, retail, industrial, rural and mixed-use schemes.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a varied portfolio of planning and development projects, including:
- Managing planning applications from initial instruction through to determination.
- Providing strategic planning advice to clients and identifying opportunities to maximise development potential.
- Preparing and reviewing planning statements, planning appraisals and other technical documentation.
- Undertaking detailed assessments of development proposals against national and local planning policy.
- Leading pre-application discussions and negotiations with Local Planning Authorities.
- Managing relationships with planning officers, clients, architects, consultants and other stakeholders.
- Managing planning appeals, enforcement matters, lawful development certificates and other planning-related submissions.
- Supporting the promotion of development sites through local plan and strategic planning processes.
- Undertaking site appraisals and feasibility assessments.
- Attending client, consultant and Local Planning Authority meetings.
- Providing commercially focused advice on planning and development opportunities.
- Managing external consultants and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams where required.
- Monitoring project budgets, timescales and deliverables.
- Identifying new business opportunities and contributing to the growth of the consultancy.
- Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the planning team.
