About The Company:
A growing healthcare software solutions company in the South Florida area is looking for support in their network and infrastructure team urgently. Their headquarters are based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and we are actively seeking a local, experienced Network Engineer to join our lean but highly skilled team.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer with at least 5 years of hands-on experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our data center environments, with a primary focus on Cisco networking technologies. This position requires the ability to quickly deploy solutions in dynamic environments, attend HQ meetings, and support vendors as necessary. The role will include both rack-and-stack work as well as more advanced network engineering tasks in a CCNP-level capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including Cisco routing, switching, and firewalls (Cisco/Palo Alto).
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and support network protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, as well as legacy WAN and MPLS configurations.
- Manage hybrid cloud environments (AWS/Azure) and support integration with on-premises networks.
- Work with F5 load balancers, IDS, packet tracing, and NetFlow to ensure the integrity and performance of network operations.
- Provide quick response and dispatch for network incidents and on-site needs across data center locations in Miami and Dallas.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to implement and support best practices for network operations and infrastructure.
- Act as a key resource for technical discussions and vendor meetings at HQ in Fort Lauderdale.
Qualifications:
- Required Certifications: CCNP or equivalent level of experience in networking.
- Skills & Expertise:
- Expertise in Cisco routing and switching (R/S).
- Proficiency with firewalls, including Cisco ASA and Palo Alto.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
- Experience with MPLS, WAN, and hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with F5 load balancers, IDS systems, NetFlow, and packet tracing.
- Ability to manage, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance in a high-demand, enterprise environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with VOIP, QoS, Cisco ACI, and Terraform is a plus.
