About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support an organisation on a freelance or interim basis. In this role, you will take ownership of the accounting function and ensure continuity, accuracy, and compliance during a period of transition, growth, or transformation.
This position is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who can quickly integrate into a team, work autonomously, and deliver high-quality financial support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle from A to Z
- Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
- Handle daily accounting activities including GL, AP, and AR
- Prepare and submit VAT declarations and other statutory filings
- Ensure compliance with local accounting and tax regulations
- Review and reconcile balance sheet and P&L accounts
- Support audits and liaise with external stakeholders where required
- Provide support to the Finance Manager or Head of Finance
- Identify and implement process improvements when relevant
Profile Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role
- Strong hands-on knowledge of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable
- Solid understanding of VAT and local accounting standards
- Able to work independently in a freelance/interim environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Navision, Dynamics, Oracle, Odoo, etc.)
- Professional working proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus
