Freelance SAP ABAP Developer – Ghent | 12+ Months
We are looking for an experienced Freelance SAP ABAP Developer to join a long-term transformation project based in Ghent.

🏠 Hybrid: 50% on-site / 50% remote

The Role
In the initial phase, the focus will be strongly on SAP ABAP development, supporting the existing SAP landscape and working closely with the business and functional teams.
As the project progresses, the organisation will start moving towards an SAP S/4HANA implementation. This will gradually broaden the role towards more modern SAP technologies, including SAP BTP and UI5/Fiori.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and enhance SAP applications using ABAP
- Work on custom developments, reports, interfaces, enhancements and integrations
- Analyse technical requirements and translate them into robust SAP solutions
- Collaborate with functional consultants and business stakeholders
- Support the existing SAP environment during the initial phase
- Contribute to the upcoming S/4HANA transformation
- Gradually work with SAP BTP, UI5 and Fiori
- Participate in technical design and development decisions
Your Profile
- Strong hands-on experience as an SAP ABAP Developer
- Solid knowledge of ABAP development and SAP architecture
- Experience with interfaces, enhancements, reports and integrations
- Ideally some exposure to S/4HANA
- Knowledge of SAP BTP and/or UI5/Fiori is a strong plus
- Comfortable working independently in a freelance environment
- English-speaking is sufficient; Dutch is preferred
- Available to start 1 November 2026
