About the role
Our client is looking for a Quality Manager to join a data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany on a contract basis. The role covers quality management across the construction and delivery phase, making sure the works meet the project specification, contractual requirements and agreed standards.
The successful candidate will lead quality assurance and control on site, from inspection and test planning through to defect close-out and handover documentation. That includes auditing the work of contractors and subcontractors, managing non-conformances and keeping quality records accurate and up to date. You will need to be visible on site, confident challenging standards where they slip and able to work with the project team to put things right quickly.
The initial assignment is six months, starting on 16 November 2026, with the next steps to be discussed as the project progresses. The role is based on site, and weekend working will be required to support the programme.
Main responsibilities
- Lead quality management on site, in line with the project quality plan and contractual requirements
- Develop, implement and maintain inspection and test plans, method statements and quality procedures
- Carry out site inspections and audits of contractor and subcontractor works
- Raise, track and close out non-conformances, snags and corrective actions
- Review and approve quality documentation, including material submittals, test records and as-built information
- Oversee the quality aspects of testing and commissioning, and support the handover process
- Report on quality performance, trends and risks to the project management team
- Liaise with the client, design team, contractors and third-party inspectors
- Promote a right-first-time culture and work to site health, safety and environmental requirements
- Provide cover for weekend working to support the delivery programme
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quality Manager or similar role on construction or engineering projects
- Data centre project experience, ideally in the delivery of mission-critical facilities
- Sound knowledge of quality management systems, inspection and test planning and audit processes
- Experience managing non-conformances, snagging and close-out documentation
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to work with contractors, engineers and client representatives
- Willingness to work weekends as required by the project programme
- Right to work in Germany
- Able to work on site in Frankfurt
