About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join the delivery team on a 50MW ground-mounted Solar PV project located approximately 10 miles from Exeter.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing quality assurance and quality control activities throughout the construction and delivery of the project, ensuring that works are completed in accordance with the approved design, specifications, quality standards and project requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional with a strong background in UK utility-scale Solar PV projects to join a major renewable energy development on a 12-month contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee quality assurance and quality control activities across the Solar PV project.
• Develop, implement and maintain the project Quality Management Plan.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved designs, specifications, standards and contractual requirements.
• Review and monitor inspection and test plans (ITPs), quality documentation and inspection records.
• Coordinate quality inspections and ensure works are completed to the required standards.
• Monitor EPC contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
• Identify, investigate and manage quality issues, defects and non-conformances.
• Coordinate the implementation and close-out of corrective and preventative actions.
• Maintain accurate quality records and project documentation.
• Support audits, inspections and quality reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, Engineering team and contractors to resolve quality-related issues.
• Monitor material and equipment quality and ensure appropriate certification and documentation is available.
• Support commissioning, completion and handover activities as required.
• Ensure quality requirements are maintained through to project completion.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Quality Manager / Quality Engineer within the renewable energy or construction sector.
• Strong and demonstrable experience on UK Solar PV projects.
• Experience working on utility-scale ground-mounted PV projects is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control processes within major construction projects.
• Experience managing ITPs, inspections, non-conformances and quality documentation.
• Experience working with EPC contractors, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of construction quality requirements and project documentation.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage quality activities across a live construction project.
• Previous UK renewable energy project experience is essential.
