Our client is a leading international engineering and construction contractor delivering large-scale infrastructure projects across Europe. They are committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and project delivery and require an experienced Civil Quality Manager to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced freelance Civil Quality Manager to join a major infrastructure project team in Hamburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing all quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure that construction works are delivered to the highest quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
· Implement, and manage the Project Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with project and client requirements.
· Coordinate and oversee quality assurance and quality control activities across all civil construction works.
· Ensure compliance with project specifications, contractual requirements, industry standards, and regulatory obligations.
· Interface with engineering, construction, procurement, HSE, and project management teams to ensure effective quality management throughout the project.
· Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality procedures, method statements, and quality records.
· Monitor and report quality performance metrics, identifying trends and recommending continuous improvement initiatives.
· Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, preventive actions, and root cause investigations.
· Ensure all quality documentation is accurately maintained and available for project handover and client review.
· Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers on all quality-related matters.
Candidate Requirements:
· Proven experience as a Civil Quality Manager on major construction, infrastructure, or civil engineering projects.
· Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001 standards.
· Experience managing QA/QC processes throughout the construction lifecycle.
· Strong understanding of civil construction methods, testing requirements, and inspection procedures.
· Experience with managing audits, NCRs, corrective actions, and quality reporting.
· Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
· Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary project environment.
· Fluent in English; Spanish and German language skills are an advantage.
· Availability to start in September 2026 and commit to the full contract duration.
Contract Details
Location: On-site in Hamburg, Germany
Duration: Initial contract length 12 months, with potential extension based on project requirements.
Rate: Competitive freelance daily rate based on experience and qualifications.
