Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Projektleiter to support a major rail infrastructure project in Lower Bavaria, near Regensburg. This is a freelance opportunity for a highly motivated professional with proven experience delivering complex railway projects, ideally within the Deutsche Bahn environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating project activities, managing stakeholders, ensuring project milestones are achieved, and maintaining compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee project execution from planning through delivery.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors across the project lifecycle.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and resource allocation.
• Act as the primary interface between project stakeholders, clients, and delivery teams.
• Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
• Prepare and present project reports, status updates, and documentation.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
• Ensure compliance with Deutsche Bahn procedures, regulations, and project requirements.
• Facilitate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder communications in German.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project Manager / Projektleiter on large-scale infrastructure or railway projects.
• Demonstrable experience working on Deutsche Bahn projects.
• Fluent German language skills (spoken and written) are essential.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Excellent project planning, coordination, and reporting capabilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced project environment.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must hold a valid EU passport or have the legal right to work and reside in Germany.
• Available to start immediately or within June 2026.
• Willing to work on-site in Lower Bavaria near Regensburg.

Contract Details

• Freelance contract through 30 November 2026.
• High-intensity project environment with 50–60 working hours per week.
