About the Role
Our client, an established food and beverage company in Flemish Brabant, is looking for a Procurement Team Lead to oversee its procurement and purchasing function. You will manage both direct and indirect procurement, lead the wider purchasing team and ensure the function runs efficiently, with the opportunity to bring in transformation experience to improve ways of working.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coach the procurement and purchasing team, setting priorities and ensuring strong delivery
- Oversee direct procurement, including raw materials, ingredients and packaging
- Oversee indirect procurement, including MRO, services, equipment and general spend
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiations and contracts to secure cost, quality and continuity of supply
- Drive cost savings and spend optimisation across direct and indirect categories
- Define and monitor procurement KPIs, reporting and governance
- Identify and implement process improvements to professionalise the procurement function
- Ensure compliance with quality, food safety and company purchasing policies
- Coordinate with production, supply chain, quality, finance and senior management
- Manage supplier risk and support supply continuity planning
- Support ERP and data improvements to strengthen visibility on spend and performance
Profile
- Proven experience as a Procurement Manager, Team Lead or similar senior purchasing role
- Experience managing both direct and indirect procurement
- Experience leading and developing a procurement or purchasing team
- Experience in the food and beverage industry is strongly preferred
- Transformation or process improvement experience is an advantage
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Analytical, structured and comfortable working with senior stakeholders
- Willing to be on-site 4 days per week in Flemish Brabant
- Fluent English required, Dutch is a big plus
