About the Client:
Manufacturing of large-scale, high-temperature heat pumps designed to eliminate fossil fuel combustion in industrial heating processes
Role Overview:
As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible within our team for the thermodynamic design of the refrigerant cycle, the associated heat exchangers, safety systems, and technical documentation. In this multidisciplinary role, you will ensure the seamless integration of processes, components, and control systems while applying your technical expertise across various engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and designing the thermodynamic boundary conditions of the refrigerant cycle; selecting heat exchangers; conducting pinchpoint analyses; and arranging system components within the plant layout
- Selecting suitable refrigerants to ensure fulfilment of customer requirements
- Overseeing detailed process design, including the sizing of safety valves, piping systems, and instrumentation
- Ensuring compatibility between materials, working fluids, and components while considering chemical and tribological challenges
- Collaborating closely with specialized engineers in compressor design, control system engineering, and other technical disciplines
- Coordinating with internal teams and external partners to achieve design targets and ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ATEX certification, Pressure Equipment Directive, and common heat pump/refrigeration standards)
- Participating in design reviews, risk assessments, certification processes, and technical documentation activities
Candidate Requirements:

- A technical degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Diploma) in Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in the thermodynamic design of heat pumps or refrigeration systems
- Strong expertise in heat pump process design and the application of refrigerants – both natural and synthetic
- Familiarity with industry standards and certification processes (e.g., ATEX, Pressure Equipment Directive)
