About the role
Our client is looking for an experienced Piping Supervisor to support the construction and installation phase of an industrial energy plant project in Germany on a contract basis. The role is site-based and focuses on making sure piping works are installed safely, correctly and in line with the project schedule, drawings and quality requirements.
The successful candidate will supervise piping installation activities from prefabrication and erection through to testing and handover. You will work closely with subcontractors, construction management, QA/QC and other disciplines. The job involves coordinating daily work, solving technical issues on site and making sure piping systems meet the relevant specifications and standards.
This role suits a hands-on supervisor with a strong background in industrial piping who is comfortable leading work on site and keeping progress, quality and safety under control. Further details on start date, duration, working pattern and exact site location are to be confirmed with candidates.
Main responsibilities
- Supervise piping installation works on site, including prefabrication, erection, supports and tie-ins
- Make sure works are carried out in line with isometrics, P&IDs, specifications and the project schedule
- Coordinate and monitor subcontractors and piping crews on a daily basis
- Track installation progress and report to construction management
- Work with QA/QC on inspections, welding control, NDT and documentation
- Prepare and oversee pressure testing, flushing and line walk activities
- Identify and resolve technical issues and interface problems with other disciplines
- Promote and enforce health, safety and environmental standards on site
- Support punch list management, mechanical completion and handover of piping systems
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience as a Piping Supervisor or in a similar site-based piping role
- Experience on industrial plant, power plant or energy projects
- Strong knowledge of piping installation, supports, welding and testing procedures
- Able to read and work from isometric drawings, P&IDs and piping specifications
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and site crews
- A strong focus on safety, quality and schedule
Desirable
- Experience on combined heat and power, energy or process plant projects
- Familiarity with German and European piping standards and site practices
- Experience with mechanical completion and commissioning support
- German language skills
