Job Title: PA/QA Engineer
Location: Wallonia Region, Belgium
Normal Working Schedule: 40 hours per week
Project: Satellite integration, verification and validation project (60+ satellites).
Start Date: 01/10/2026
Contract Type: Freelance Contract, 12 months (with an 18 month extension).

About the Client:
Our client, operating in the Space Industry, are working on a large satellite project (60+ satellites) and specifically focussed on the complete integration, verification and validation of all developed elements and technologies linked to the direct-to-device digital satellite multi-band phased array antenna, the 5G-NTN Software Stack and the next-gen virtualised, digital, SD and scalable ground segments of the project.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a PA/QA Engineer with good knowledge of ESA ECSS Standards, to work on the quality and product validation & verification, performing quality process definition and implementation & auditing, as well as reporting and operating in a continuous improvement mindset.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the systems are compliant with functional and performance requirements under realistic operational conditions. Using a progressive integration logic approach, all components are first verified individually at factory level using the providers’ methodologies, tools and qualification environments. Including RF validation of the multiband phased array antenna, software and protocol validation of the 5G-NTN Stack, performance validation of the virtualised gateway infrastructure etc..
  • Ensure all work has standard compliance and is adhered to recognised frameworks like ISO9001 or industry-specific regulations (ESA ECSS for example).
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) to guide teams (Process definition).
  • Conduct regular internal and supplier audits to identify non-compliance and monitor corrective actions.
  • Lead risk analyses (like FMEA) to identify and mitigate potential product failures.
  • Oversee and perform rigorous testing to verify the product meets all technical specifications.
  • Track product changes, manage documentation, and maintain traceability throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Track performance metrics and report product/project status to stakeholders.
  • Perform root-cause analysis of defects and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) to avoid recurrence.
  • Educate teams on quality standards, integrating quality control into the earliest stages of development.
  • Coordinate team meetings and facilitate communication across cross-functional teams.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Knowledge of ESA ECSS Standards.
  • Experience in simulators or platforms testing and verification.
  • Proficiency in testing frameworks, bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla), and basic automation or API testing.
  • Ability to understand user requirements and to verify & report their implementation.
  • Ability to write comprehensive test cases, defect prevention and executing risk-based testing.
  • English speaking.

Contract Details
Location: Wallonia Region, Belgium
Normal working schedule: 40 hours per week.
Duration: 12 months + 18 months (expected to run until February 2029).
Rate type: All-inclusive Hourly/Daily Rate.
