Role Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Lead Oracle Database Administrator to strengthen a critical infrastructure team that is currently operating with limited resources and facing database performance challenges.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the Oracle database environment, lead performance improvement initiatives, and provide senior-level operational support within a complex enterprise landscape running on IBM AIX platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the administration, maintenance, and optimization of Oracle database environments.
• Analyze and resolve database performance issues.
• Ensure database availability, stability, security, and reliability.
• Perform capacity planning, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Support incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Lead database upgrades, migrations, patching, and lifecycle activities.
• Work closely with infrastructure, application, and operations teams.
• Define and implement database best practices and standards.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership.
• Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity activities.

Required Skills & Experience

Mandatory

• 10+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
• Proven experience as a Lead DBA or Senior Oracle DBA.
• Strong expertise in:
  • Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c or later)
  • Oracle RAC
  • Data Guard
  • RMAN
  • Performance tuning and optimization
  • Backup and recovery strategies
• Strong experience with IBM AIX environments.
• Experience supporting mission-critical production environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Linux environments.
• Oracle Cloud experience.
• Scripting skills (Shell, Python, Ansible).
• ITIL knowledge.
• Experience in large enterprise environments.
