Contract: Locum

About the role
Our client, a firm of solicitors, is looking for an experienced Residential Conveyancer to join its property team on a 12 month locum contract. The role centres on a standard residential caseload, with the successful candidate taking files through from instruction to completion and post-completion.
You will work with a high degree of independence, managing your own matters while keeping clients, agents, lenders and other solicitors informed at each stage. The work covers freehold and leasehold sales, purchases and remortgages, and the team needs someone who can pick up a live caseload and keep it moving.

- Report on title to buyers and lenders, and advise clients on key points in clear terms
- Prepare for and complete exchange and completion, including SDLT and Land Registry requirements
- Complete post-completion work, including registration with HM Land Registry
- Keep clients, estate agents and other parties updated and respond promptly to queries
- Maintain accurate file records and comply with the firm’s procedures and regulatory obligations
