Locum Public Family Solicitor – 3-Month Contract
Location: Somerset
Rate: £45 – £50 per hour (DOE)
Contract: 3-month initial contract (with possible extension)
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Full-time preferred (Part-time considered)
I am currently helping a law firm recruit for an experienced Locum Public Family Solicitor. This is a vital role within a busy child protection team, offering hands-on involvement in a broad range of public law family matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing a full caseload of public law children matters, including:
Care proceedings
PLO (Public Law Outline) processes
Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) applications
Drafting legal documents and preparing cases for court
Liaising with social services, guardians, counsel, and external agencies
Some advocacy – desirable but not essential (advocacy support available if needed)
Ensuring procedural compliance and maintaining high-quality legal standards
