Locum Civil & Criminal Litigation Lawyer
Local Authority – Home Counties
Initial 3–6 Month Contract | Hybrid Working

Vivid Resourcing are currently partnered with a local authority in the Home Counties who are looking to appoint a Locum Civil & Criminal Litigation Lawyer on an interim basis.

This position offers a broad and engaging caseload, covering both civil and criminal litigation, within a supportive and well-established legal team.

Responsibilities:

  • Handling a varied caseload of civil and criminal litigation matters
  • Conducting and supporting prosecutions, enforcement and regulatory work
  • Providing legal advice to internal departments on contentious matters
  • Drafting legal documentation including pleadings, witness statements and notices
  • Liaising with counsel, courts and external parties as required
  • Managing cases from initial instruction through to resolution

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive in England & Wales
  • Experience in litigation, ideally within a local authority or public sector setting
  • Exposure to prosecution and enforcement work is desirable
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Contract Details:

  • Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)
  • Hybrid working available
  • Initial 3–6 month contract with strong potential for extension
  • Flexible start date
