Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer to join the IT Innovation & Intelligence team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing mission-critical Linux-based infrastructure that supports operational and enterprise services.
You will play a key role in building highly available, secure, and high-performance Linux platforms while driving infrastructure automation using Infrastructure-as-Code principles. Working within multidisciplinary teams, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to deliver reliable and scalable IT solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise Linux infrastructure.
- Build and manage highly available Linux server environments.
- Automate infrastructure deployment and configuration using Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Manage configuration and automation with Puppet.
- Administer and optimize Linux systems in enterprise environments.
- Manage DNS infrastructure using BIND.
- Work with Git for version control and collaborative development.
- Support PostgreSQL database environments.
- Implement security hardening best practices.
- Manage secrets using solutions such as HashiCorp Vault.
- Configure and maintain Linux firewalling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure and security initiatives.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and provide technical expertise.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, automation, and platform modernization.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of experience with Linux technologies in enterprise environments.
- Extensive experience administering Linux server infrastructure.
- Strong experience with:
- Puppet
- Git
- Infrastructure automation
- Linux administration
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluent Dutch
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with:
- BIND DNS infrastructure
- PostgreSQL
- Security hardening
- HashiCorp Vault or similar secrets management solutions
- Linux firewall management
- Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies
