We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Project Surveyor to join our asset and compliance team within a respected Housing Association based in the East Midlands. This is a critical role focused on delivering fire safety projects across our housing stock, ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee fire safety improvement projects from inception through to completion.
Carry out Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) reviews and recommend remedial actions.
Survey housing stock to assess fire safety compliance, including passive and active fire protection measures.
Work closely with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Provide technical advice and ensure all works comply with statutory and regulatory standards (e.g., Building Regulations, Fire Safety Order).
Maintain detailed records, produce reports, and support audit requirements.
Support the wider compliance and asset management team as required.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
A recognised qualification in Fire Risk Assessment (e.g., NEBOSH Fire Certificate, IFE-accredited course).
Building Surveying qualification (e.g., RICS, CIOB, HNC/HND, or degree in Building Surveying or related field).
Proven experience managing fire safety projects in residential or social housing sectors.
Strong understanding of current fire safety legislation and building regulations.
Excellent project management, communication, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Desirable:
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, IFE, CIOB).
Knowledge of housing association property portfolios and regulatory requirements.
Contract Details:
Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension)
Working Pattern: 3 days onsite
