INDUSTRIALIZATION ENGINEER – LEUVEN REGION (BELGIUM) – PERMANENT POSITION

We’re currently recruiting for a proactive, hands-on Industrialization Engineer to take ownership of product industrialization and manufacturing process optimization across the entire product lifecycle.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between design, production, suppliers, and customers, ensuring that new products transition smoothly from development into high-volume manufacturing with optimal quality, efficiency, and scalability.

You’ll play a key role in New Product Introduction (NPI) programs, working closely with cross-functional teams to define manufacturing strategies, implement robust production processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This position demands both technical depth and practical execution, combining analytical thinking, problem-solving, and a strong drive to get things done.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead industrialization of new products from early design through mass production.
  • Collaborate with R&D and design teams to ensure design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-test (DFT).
  • Define and implement assembly and test processes, tooling, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Manage pilot builds, process validation, and readiness reviews (e.g., FATP, PPAP, capability studies).
  • Document and maintain clear industrialization plans, process flows, and standard operating procedures.
  • Develop, analyze, and continuously improve manufacturing workflows to enhance quality, yield, and productivity.
  • Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and quality risks using data-driven analysis and lean principles.
  • Support root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure production processes meet internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate process capabilities, qualify new components, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Work directly with customers to align on manufacturing readiness, performance metrics, and quality deliverables.
  • Provide technical support and act as an interface between engineering, procurement, and production.
  • Collect and analyze production and test data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain tools, dashboards, and scripts to automate data collection and reporting.
  • Use programming skills (Python preferred) to streamline process control, test automation, or data visualization.
  • Contribute to digital transformation initiatives and smart factory projects.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years in a similar field i.e. product industrialization, process engineering, or manufacturing engineering (electronics or electromechanical products preferred).
  • Experience with manufacturing process documentation, PFMEA, and validation protocols.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and scripting (Python preferred); familiarity with LabVIEW or similar test automation tools is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Competence with CAD tools, test instrumentation, and SPC tools.
  • A “go-getter” mindset: proactive, self-motivated, and able to take ownership from concept to completion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable interfacing with teams across design, production, and supply chain.
  • Adaptable and resilient in a fast-paced, hands-on engineering environment

The Offer:

  • A permanent, full-time employment contract
  • A salary & benefits package commensurate with experience
