Job Title:Â HSE Officer (ad-interim)
Location: North Holland, Netherlands
Remote working: 1 day remote working per week if working full time, minimum 4 days onsite per week.
Normal Working Schedule: 40 hours per week (or 32 hours per week)
Project: Ad-Interim position to act as the HSE officer in a food production facility, until a new employee is found.
Start Date: ASAP

About the Client:
Our client is a food production client servicing the European retail and foodservice markets, specialised in fresh and frozen poultry, this facility also includes a poultry slaughterhouse. Â Â
Role Overview:
We are seeking an interim HSE officer to ensure compliance with Dutch laws for health, safety and environment. Implementing procedures and ensuring all staff are following up accordingly, ensuring compliance with Dutch laws surrounding HSE, following up on incidents, driving the HSE culture in the factory etc.. Â

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee HSE in a poultry slaughterhouse facility which produces both frozen and fresh poultry.
- Ensure compliance with Dutch laws for health, safety and environmental laws/standards such as ISO14001 & ISO 45001.
- Ensuring all HSE is followed in the factory, drive a culture of HSE and follow up on any incidents including implementing preventative measures.
- Be pro-active to implement HSE procedures to stop incidents before they happen.
- Lead, update and execute the mandatory Dutch RI&E specific to slaughter lines, knife handling, heavy machinery, ergonomic strain and cold storage.
- Inspect primary processing machinery to ensure lockout/tagout (LOTO) compliance and proper mechanical guarding.
- Monitor safe storage, handling and dilution of harsh industrial cleaning chemicals/sanitzers (CIP systems) and manage biological exposure risks (zoonotic diseases, bio-aerosols etc..)
- Lead root-cause investigations for workplace injuries, near-misses, environmental hazards, equipment damage on the slaughter floor and log corrective/preventative actions (CAPA).
- Oversee wastewater discharge parameters, refrigeration ammonia/glycol systems (leak detection/f-gas regulations), odor/noise controls, and waste/byproduct management per Dutch environmental permits (omgevingsvergunning).
- Conduct daily/weekly safety walks, deliver toolbox talks, coordinate emergy response teams (BHV), and conduct safety onboarding.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience in an HSE position within a food manufacturing company (ideally within meat production/slaughterhouse facility).
- Relevant HSE certification (such as MVK, BHV) and good working knowledge of Dutch Arboplex/Arbowet – ISO14001 & ISO45001.
- Fluent Dutch.

Rate type:Â All-inclusive Hourly/Daily Rate.
Remote Working: 1 day remote working per week (if working 40 hours), 4 days onsite.
