HSE Advisor – Contract / Freelance – Poland
Location: Poland, approximately 2 hours from Warsaw
Contract: 12-month initial contract
Start date: November 2026
Working hours: 58 hours per week
Rate: Negotiable
Our client is a major international organisation operating within the energy and metals sector, with operations involving large-scale industrial infrastructure.
They are currently looking for an experienced HSE Advisor to support a power plant project in Poland.
The role
This is a highly site-focused HSE position, with approximately 80% of your time spent in the field and 20% in the office.
You will work closely with site teams, contractors and project stakeholders to maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental performance. The role requires someone who is comfortable being visible and active on site, identifying potential risks and providing practical HSE guidance to the workforce.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HSE advice and guidance to site personnel and contractors
- Spend the majority of your time on site monitoring health and safety standards
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety observations and audits
- Identify hazards and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented
- Support risk assessments, method statements and other HSE documentation
- Monitor compliance with relevant Polish HSE legislation, site procedures and project requirements
- Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions where required
- Deliver and support toolbox talks, safety briefings and other HSE communications
- Monitor contractor HSE performance and promote safe working practices
- Support the implementation of HSE improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate HSE records and contribute to relevant project reporting
- Work closely with project and operational teams to maintain a strong safety culture
Requirements
- Previous experience working on power plant projects is essential
- Proven experience in an HSE Advisor or similar site-based HSE role
- Experience working within power, energy, engineering, construction or other industrial environments
- A proactive and hands-on approach to HSE, with a willingness to spend the majority of your time in the field
- Experience conducting site inspections, audits and risk assessments
- Strong understanding of incident investigation and corrective actions
- Experience working with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams
- Relevant HSE qualification or certification
- Fluent English is mandatory
- Polish language skills would be advantageous
- Ability to work on site approximately 2 hours from Warsaw

- Working pattern: 58 hours per week
- Monday-Friday: 10 hours per day
- Saturday: 8 hours
- Location: Site approximately 2 hours from Warsaw
