Title: Housing Support Officer
Location: West London
Contract: Temporary – 3 Months (potential to extend)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
We are currently working on behalf of a housing provider in West London to recruit an experienced Housing Support Officer for an initial 3-month temporary assignment, with the potential for an extension.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional who is available immediately or at short notice and is looking to make a positive impact from day one.
The Role
As a Housing Support Officer, you will provide a high-quality housing management and support service to residents, working closely with internal teams and external partner agencies to help tenants maintain their tenancies and access the appropriate support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a varied caseload of tenants, including residents with additional support needs.
- Carrying out tenancy visits, sign-ups, reviews and related housing management activities.
- Taking a proactive approach to tenancy sustainment and preventing tenancy breakdown, including early intervention around rent arrears, anti-social behaviour and safeguarding concerns.
- Working collaboratively with support services, local authorities and other external agencies to coordinate appropriate care and support.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case notes and records in accordance with data protection requirements.
- Assisting with void management and re-letting processes when required.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety, safeguarding and relevant regulatory requirements.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as a Housing Support Officer, Housing Officer or in a similar housing/tenancy support role.
- A strong understanding of housing management, tenancy sustainment and safeguarding.
- Experience supporting vulnerable individuals or client groups.
- Excellent communication, organisation and case-recording skills.
- The ability to manage a busy and varied caseload while working effectively under pressure.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
