Housing Options Officer
 Hampshire (Hybrid – 2 Days Per Week in the Office)
 £28-£29 per Hour (Ltd/Umbrella)

 Initial 3 months Contract with Potential Extension
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Options Officer to join a busy local authority in Hampshire on an interim basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a homelessness professional with strong housing options experience to support a high-demand service, providing frontline advice and assistance to households at risk of homelessness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality housing options and homelessness prevention advice.
- Assess applications in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
- Manage a varied caseload across prevention, relief, and main housing duty stages.
- Support the triage function, undertaking initial assessments and determining appropriate interventions.
- Work flexibly across the service, floating between teams where required to support demand.
- Develop and implement Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs).
- Liaise with internal departments and external agencies to secure positive outcomes for customers.
- Complete statutory decision-making and maintain accurate case records.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a Housing Options or Homelessness team.
- Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation, particularly the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
- Experience managing homelessness applications from initial assessment through to decision.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support triage services effectively.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and case management skills.
- Experience using housing management and casework systems.
