Title – Housing Officer

Contract: 12 month contract
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Housing Officer to deliver a high-quality housing management service across a portfolio of properties. This varied role covers tenancy management, income collection, lettings, voids, anti-social behaviour, tenancy sustainment and housing support.
Working closely with support teams and external agencies, you will help residents maintain their tenancies while ensuring excellent housing management standards and performance targets are met.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of residential properties.
Oversee lettings, allocations and void turnaround.
Conduct tenancy sign-ups, visits, audits and estate inspections.
Manage rent accounts, prevent arrears and agree repayment plans.
Investigate tenancy breaches, anti-social behaviour, tenancy fraud and safeguarding concerns.
Prepare and serve legal notices and attend court where required.
Support residents with Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and other welfare-related matters.
Maintain accurate housing records and produce performance reports.
Work closely with internal teams and external agencies to deliver positive outcomes for residents.
About You
We’re looking for someone with experience in housing management and supporting vulnerable people to sustain their tenancies.
You will have:
Experience within social housing, supported housing, homelessness or a similar housing environment.
A strong understanding of tenancy management, rent collection, lettings and voids.
Experience managing anti-social behaviour and tenancy enforcement.
Knowledge of Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and welfare benefits.
Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
The confidence to manage a varied caseload and make informed decisions.
Good IT skills and experience using housing management systems.
This role would suit candidates who have worked as a Housing Officer, Supported Housing Officer, Housing Support Officer, Tenancy Sustainment Officer, Neighbourhood Officer or Income Officer, particularly those with experience supporting vulnerable adults.
