Homeless Prevention Officer

Vivid is currently recruiting for a Homeless Prevention Officer on behalf of a council in Sussex.

The role is focused on delivering a proactive homelessness prevention service, working with customers at risk of homelessness to achieve positive housing outcomes before a crisis develops.

You’ll manage your own caseload, provide housing advice, complete assessments, develop Personal Housing Plans and work in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 to prevent and relieve homelessness.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a varied homelessness prevention caseload.
  • Completing housing assessments and developing tailored prevention plans.
  • Delivering advice under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • Responding to Duty to Refer referrals and homelessness applications.
  • Working with landlords, letting agents and partner agencies to secure accommodation and prevent homelessness.
  • Carrying out home visits, mediation and affordability assessments where required.
  • Maintaining accurate case records and contributing to statutory performance data.

The details are as follows:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Homeless Prevention Officer
  • Hybrid working, two days a week in the office
  • Access to a car, some travel within District may be required.
  • DBS checked
  • Rate dependent on experience
