We are looking for a health and safety officer on a warehouse construction in the South of Holland.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) activities across the warehouse construction project, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, project standards and site procedures.
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments and safety audits, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
- Coordinate safety activities between the client, main contractor, subcontractors and suppliers, promoting a strong safety culture across all project phases.
- Oversee high-risk activities including lifting operations, working at height, confined space entry, hot works, electrical works and LOTO procedures.
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and inductions, while supporting work planning and permit-to-work processes.
- Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, implement corrective actions and prepare regular HSE reports, KPI updates and audit documentation.
- Provide expert safety advice to project teams and exercise stop-work authority where there is immediate risk to personnel, property or the environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Intermediate Safety Management (MVK) or Higher Safety Management (HVK) qualification.
- Valid VCA VOL certification; BHV (Emergency Response) certification is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, construction safety standards and permit-to-work systems.
- Proven experience in construction, industrial, logistics or warehouse projects.
- Experience managing high-risk construction activities and conducting incident investigations.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and reporting skills with the ability to influence safe working behaviours.
