Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of a major pharmaceutical facility project in Munich. The role requires full responsibility for construction, cleanroom delivery, GMP compliance, process equipment installation, machinery fit-out, commissioning, validation, and operational handover.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences projects and a proven track record managing both building construction and the installation of complex manufacturing equipment in regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of project delivery from construction through to commissioning and handover.
- Manage contractors, consultants, equipment vendors, and site teams.
- Oversee pharmaceutical fit-out activities, including machinery and process equipment installation.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, GxP, health & safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Control programme, budget, risk, procurement, and project reporting.
- Coordinate commissioning, qualification, and validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ).
- Act as the senior client representative and site lead throughout the project.
- Drive project performance, stakeholder engagement, and successful delivery milestones.
Requirements
- 15+ years’ experience delivering large-scale capital projects.
- Significant pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences project experience.
- Proven background as a Project Director, Site Director, Construction Director, or Programme Director.
- Experience managing cleanrooms, GMP facilities, manufacturing areas, and process equipment installations.
- Strong knowledge of commissioning, validation, and regulated environments.
- Excellent leadership, commercial, and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Fluent English required; German is advantageous.
