Our client is a leading naval defense contractor engaged in the F123 frigate program, a key project involving the design, development, and support of next-generation naval vessels. Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced freelance ILS Manager to join the F123 project team in Bremen. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of Integrated Logistics Support activities to optimize system availability and lifecycle supportability for the F123 frigates.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and manage the ILS strategy in alignment with project goals and client requirements.
Coordinate and oversee all ILS activities including Maintenance Planning, Technical Documentation, Supply Support, Training, and Support Equipment.
Interface with engineering, procurement, quality, and project management teams to ensure seamless integration of logistics support.
Monitor and report on logistics performance metrics and recommend improvements.
Manage risk assessments related to logistics and propose mitigation plans.
Ensure compliance with naval standards and regulations throughout all ILS activities.
Support the preparation and review of ILS documentation, including Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), Maintenance Plans, and Supportability Studies.
Liaise with external suppliers and subcontractors to coordinate logistics activities as necessary.
Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience as an ILS Manager, preferably in naval or defense sectors.
Strong understanding of Integrated Logistics Support principles and best practices.
Familiarity with F123 frigate program or similar naval vessel projects is highly desirable.
Excellent project management and stakeholder communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Proficient in relevant ILS tools and software.
Fluent in English; German language skills are an advantage.
Availability to start in October 2025 and commit to the full contract duration.
Contract Details:
Location: On-site in Bremen, with possible remote work flexibility as agreed.
Duration: Initial contract length to be confirmed, with potential extension based on project needs.
Rate: Competitive freelance daily rate based on experience and qualifications.
