The assignment
Our client is looking for experienced FPGA Engineers at Senior and Principal level to strengthen their engineering team.
The team is working on the development of next-generation FPGA IP and architectural designs for high-performance computing (HPC) applications. A key part of the project involves developing advanced high-speed communication architectures between multiple FPGAs within a platform.
The main challenge is ensuring that large volumes of incoming network traffic can be efficiently distributed across multiple FPGAs without packet loss, while maintaining maximum link capacity and performance.
Key responsibilities
– Design and develop complex RTL logic for next-generation FPGA architectures.
– Develop high-speed communication interfaces and FPGA-to-FPGA connectivity.
– Implement and optimise networking protocols, including Ethernet and RDMA.
– Design RTL logic to distribute and route incoming Ethernet packets to the correct destination across multiple FPGAs.
– Work on traffic load balancing and data distribution across FPGA platforms.
– Optimise data throughput, latency and link utilisation while ensuring reliable packet delivery.
– Contribute to the development of new IP and architectural solutions for high-performance computing applications.
Required experience
– Strong experience in FPGA development and RTL design (VHDL and/or Verilog).
– Experience with high-speed interfaces and FPGA-to-FPGA communication.
– Knowledge of networking protocols, particularly Ethernet and RDMA.
– Experience with high-throughput data processing and packet routing.
– Understanding of traffic management, load balancing and data distribution across multiple FPGA devices.
– Experience developing complex FPGA architectures and IP.
