Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.
- Provide financial support and advice to internal teams to ensure sound financial decision-making.
- Prepare financial reports and analysis for various business units within the police authority.
- Review financial processes and suggest improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Support the financial year-end processes and audits as required.
- Monitor and report on financial performance, highlighting any risks or opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies specific to the police authority sector.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a police authority.
- Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
- Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Knowledge of financial software and systems is advantageous.
