About the role
Our client is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join them in Brodalsvägen, Sweden on a contract basis. The role involves keeping customer systems and equipment running reliably, carrying out maintenance, fault finding and repairs on site.
You will be the technical point of contact for customers during service visits, diagnosing problems, carrying out repairs and making sure equipment is returned to full operation quickly and safely. The position suits an engineer who is comfortable working independently, prioritising a varied workload and explaining technical issues clearly to customers and colleagues.
The successful candidate will bring sound technical knowledge, good judgement and a practical, customer-focused approach. This is a hands-on assignment where your experience will be put to work from the outset.
Main responsibilities
- Carry out planned maintenance, inspections and servicing of customer equipment and systems
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and control faults, and restore systems to full operation
- Respond to breakdowns and service requests, prioritising work according to urgency and customer impact
- Install, test and commission equipment and upgrades where required
- Complete service reports, job records and documentation accurately and on time
- Advise customers on equipment use, performance and preventive maintenance
- Liaise with technical support, project and spare parts teams to resolve complex issues
- Follow health, safety and quality procedures on customer sites
- Identify recurring faults and recommend improvements to reduce downtime
Requirements
- Relevant experience as a field service engineer, service technician or in a comparable technical role
- A technical qualification in mechanical, electrical, mechatronic or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical, electrical and control systems
- Experience working independently on customer sites
- Good communication skills, with the confidence to deal with customers at different levels
- Good organisation and the ability to manage a varied service workload
- A strong commitment to health and safety
- A driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites as required
- The ability to work in Brodalsvägen, Sweden
