About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Family Solicitor to join their team in Wiltshire on an initial 12-month locum contract.

The role will involve managing a varied family law caseload, with a particular focus on divorce, financial matters and children cases. You will work closely with clients to understand their circumstances, provide clear legal advice and progress cases effectively through to resolution.

This is a hybrid opportunity suited to a solicitor with solid family law experience who is comfortable managing their own caseload and working with clients through often sensitive and complex matters.

Main responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload covering divorce, financial matters and children cases.
• Provide clear and practical legal advice to clients.
• Handle cases from initial instruction through to resolution.
• Prepare and review relevant legal documentation and correspondence.
• Liaise with clients, solicitors, barristers, courts and other relevant parties.
• Represent clients where required and work towards appropriate outcomes.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure matters progress within relevant deadlines.
• Manage a busy caseload independently while maintaining a high standard of client service.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor with previous experience in family law.
• Strong experience handling divorce, finance and children matters.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently.
• Strong client communication and relationship management skills.
• Good knowledge of relevant family law legislation and procedures.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Available to start at short notice.
