About the role
Our client, a local authority, is looking for an Emergency Planning and Resilience Manager to join them in Chelmsford on an interim basis. The role leads the organisation’s approach to emergency planning, business continuity and resilience, making sure it is prepared to respond to and recover from major incidents and disruption.

You will also lead the council’s contribution to multi-agency preparedness, training and exercising, and act as a point of expertise during live incidents. The position suits an experienced resilience professional who is comfortable working independently, advising senior leaders and staying calm under pressure.
The successful candidate will bring sound knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act and emergency management practice, good judgement and clear communication. This is a hands-on assignment where your experience will be put to work from the outset.
