Electronics Engineer – Medical Device Development
Contract: 3–6 Months | Start: ASAP
About the Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Electronics Engineer to join our client’s engineering team during a peak period of project activity.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of an advanced organ transplant device, working alongside a multidisciplinary engineering team. Experience within the medical device or healthcare sector is highly desirable, although strong electronics engineering experience from other regulated or technically complex industries will also be considered.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of technology with a direct impact on organ transplantation and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot electronic systems for a complex medical device.
- Work across analog and digital electronics, from concept through development and validation.
- Design and integrate power supply and power management solutions.
- Work with processors, microcontrollers, and embedded electronic systems.
- Develop and review schematics and PCB designs using Altium Designer.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, systems, and other engineering disciplines.
- Support prototyping, testing, debugging, and design verification.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues and implement robust engineering solutions.
- Contribute to technical documentation and design reviews.
- Ensure designs meet relevant quality, reliability, and regulatory requirements where applicable.
Required Experience & Skills
- Degree or equivalent professional experience in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience in general electronics engineering.
- Solid knowledge of:
- Analog electronics
- Digital electronics
- Power supplies and power management
- Processors / microcontrollers
- PCB design
- Practical experience with Altium Designer.
- Experience taking electronics from design through prototyping, testing, debugging, and integration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable Experience
Experience in one or more of the following would be a strong advantage:
- Medical devices / healthcare technology
- Regulated product development
- Motor control and drive electronics
- Heating / temperature-control systems
- Sensors and instrumentation
- Embedded systems
- Product development within complex electromechanical systems
