Electrical Technical Drafter (BESS Projects)

About the Role
We are supporting a leading renewable energy developer delivering multiple Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Germany. They are looking for an experienced Electrical Technical Drafter to join on a contract basis and provide immediate support across several live projects.
This role is ideally suited to someone who has previously worked on standalone BESS developments and can hit the ground running with minimal onboarding. The successful candidate will support technical drawing production, electrical design documentation, grid application submissions, and permitting requirements while working closely with the engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and update technical layout drawings for utility-scale BESS projects
- Develop and modify Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
- Support electrical design activities and technical documentation
- Assist with grid application packages and utility connection documentation
- Prepare drawings and technical information for building permit submissions
- Support the design and integration of MV skids and associated electrical infrastructure
- Update and maintain project drawings throughout the development lifecycle
- Provide technical drafting support across multiple BESS projects simultaneously
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Drafter, Electrical Designer, or Technical Draftsperson
- Strong AutoCAD experience
- Demonstrable experience creating and reviewing Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
- Solid electrical engineering background, ideally within renewable energy or power infrastructure
- Previous experience working on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects is highly preferred
- Experience supporting grid connection applications and permitting processes
- Understanding of MV systems, MV skids, substations, transformers, and associated infrastructure
- Able to work independently and contribute immediately to active projects
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote environment
- Fluent English required
- German language skills would be beneficial
