Project Overview:
A new equipment installation project at a production site of a food manufacturing client. The project is at the start of basic engineering, followed by detailed engineering, installation and commissioning/start-up (CSU). You will be part of the Project Management Team and will act as the owner’s representative for the complete HV/LV Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation scope. You will work with multiple engineering contractors, suppliers, system integrators, global OT specialists and the local site organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will be the Owner’s Lead Representative for all EIA disciplines, from Basic Engineering through commissioning and handover to Operations
- You will lead the EIA scope, technical requirements and execution strategy, safeguarding safety, quality, schedule and cost
- You will review and approve engineering deliverables from consultants, system integrators and suppliers, and manage design reviews, HAZOP actions and constructability assessments
- You will manage the design and implementation of HV and LV power distribution, including single line diagrams, protection philosophies, load lists and cable routing concepts, and coordinate interfaces with utility providers
- You will ensure implementation of the global OT architecture, automation standards and cybersecurity requirements, and oversee PLC, SCADA and MES integration
- You will coordinate control philosophies, functional design specifications, FAT/SAT, loop checking and integrated system testing
- You will manage technical interfaces with contractors and suppliers, support bid evaluations and vendor selection, and resolve interface issues between disciplines
- You will support EIA budget and forecast control, review change requests and variation orders, and escalate delays and cost overruns with mitigation proposals
- You will promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE standards, German and European regulations, and machine and functional safety requirements
- You will lead EIA commissioning and start-up, manage punch list close-out, and ensure training, as-built documentation and system ownership transfer to operations and maintenance
- You will act as the key EIA contact for all project stakeholders and provide transparent reporting on progress, risks and opportunities
- More than 10 years in CAPEX project teams (client, engineering contractor or supplier side) as EIA design engineer or EIA design lead/manager, preferably food/FMCG
- Proven track record as EIA Engineering Lead or Design Manager on at least two CAPEX projects above €15M (design, installation and CSU)
- Mandatory experience with Siemens PCS7;
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Electrical or Automation)
- Solid understanding of international design codes, EU Directives and process safety management
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project) and design management tools
- Languages: fluent English and German (verbal and written)
- Hands-on, proactive mentality, able to dive into the details without losing the overview
