Our client is a global facilities and workplace services organisation supporting a major technical and highly regulated environment.

They are currently looking for a Deputy Technical Manager & Reliability Planner to support the reliable and compliant operation of technical systems, buildings and utilities.

The role combines technical facilities management, reliability planning, maintenance optimisation and project coordination, with a strong focus on quality, safety and regulatory compliance.

The role

As Deputy Technical Manager & Reliability Planner, you will support the Technical Manager with the day-to-day operation of the site and act as their deputy during periods of absence.

You will help ensure technical systems, facilities and utilities operate reliably and efficiently, while maintaining the documentation and compliance standards required within a regulated environment.

You will also coordinate maintenance, modernisation and capital projects, analyse equipment performance and failures, and work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and resolve operational risks.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Deputy Technical Manager during periods of absence and support daily technical operations
• Ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of technical systems, buildings and utilities
• Maintain accurate and GMP-compliant documentation
• Plan, coordinate and monitor maintenance, modernisation and capital projects
• Maintain quality assurance of the Maximo CAFM system and site documentation
• Ensure compliance with GMP, GxP, health and safety and other relevant requirements
• Support audits, inspections and regulatory interactions
• Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, sustainability, reliability and maintenance performance
• Analyse equipment failures and performance data
• Conduct and support Root Cause Analyses (RCA)
• Identify operational, technical and safety risks and support appropriate mitigation measures
• Act as a key interface between internal teams, customers, contractors and external service providers
• Monitor maintenance activities and support optimisation of maintenance strategies
• Provide technical input into ongoing projects and improvement initiatives
• Maintain a structured approach to technical documentation, reporting and compliance

Requirements

• Technical qualification with further education as a Meister, Technician or equivalent
• Several years of experience in Facility Management / Technical Facility Management
• Experience within the pharmaceutical industry is preferred
• Strong understanding of technical building systems, maintenance and utilities
• Experience with GMP/GxP environments would be advantageous
• Experience using CAFM or maintenance management systems, particularly Maximo or Speedikon
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
• Experience with maintenance planning, reliability improvement or technical project coordination
• Strong analytical and organisational skills
• Hands-on and practical approach to problem solving
• Strong German language skills are required
• English language skills are advantageous
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Customer-focused approach with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Structured, solution-oriented and self-driven approach to work
