The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Freelance Data Migration Engineer to support a large-scale Microsoft Dynamics transformation project in the Ghent region. You will play a key role in the data migration workstream, collaborating closely with the Data Migration Lead and a small team to ensure high-quality, reliable data is migrated into the new environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong SQL skills, functional Microsoft Dynamics knowledge, and experience working with Azure-based data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Support the end-to-end data migration process for a Microsoft Dynamics implementation.
- Extract, analyse, cleanse, and validate data from multiple source systems.
- Develop and maintain SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
- Contribute to the Azure data framework used to consolidate and process data from various systems.
- Work closely with Business Analysts to understand business requirements and data structures.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues before migration.
- Collaborate with the Data Migration Lead and other Data Migration Engineers to deliver migration milestones.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity throughout the migration lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience as a Data Migration Engineer, Data Migration Consultant, or similar role.
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (Dynamics 365 experience is a strong advantage).
- Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries and data transformation scripts.
- Experience with data extraction, cleansing, validation, and migration activities.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Azure-based data solutions.
- Comfortable working closely with Business Analysts and technical stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to start ASAP.
Languages
- Dutch and English preferred.
- English-only candidates will also be considered.
- French is a plus.
