Our client is a fast-growing startup consultancy based in Antwerp, specializing in data-driven solutions. They are building a strong freelance network to support increasing demand from clients and deliver high-quality, scalable data solutions.
Role Overview:
The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and ETL processes. The role requires working closely with clients, understanding their data needs, and translating them into efficient technical solutions. Experience in consulting environments and the ability to work independently are key.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines
· Develop and optimize data workflows and pipeline architectures
· Integrate data from multiple sources (structured and unstructured)
· Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance
· Collaborate with stakeholders and clients to gather requirements
· Contribute to the development of modern data platforms
· (Nice to have) Lead or mentor small teams on client projects
Candidate Requirements:
· Proven experience as a Data Engineer
· Strong expertise in ETL processes and tools
· Experience with data pipelines and workflow orchestration
· Solid understanding of data modeling and architecture
· Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus)
· Ability to work in a client-facing/consulting environment
· Fluent in Dutch (mandatory) and good English communication skills
· Team leadership experience is a plus
