About the role
Our client is looking for a CX Engineer to join its team in Zurich, Switzerland on a contract basis. The role focuses on commissioning, taking systems from installation through testing and energisation to a safe, documented handover to the end user.
The successful candidate will plan and carry out commissioning activities on site, working from engineering drawings, test procedures and project specifications. That includes functional testing, fault finding, witnessing of tests and the preparation of commissioning records. You will be expected to work methodically, identify issues early and resolve them with the wider project team.
The organisation needs someone who can take on live project work quickly and contribute from the start of the assignment. You will work alongside project engineers, site teams and subcontractors, supporting delivery to programme while maintaining safety and quality standards at each stage.
Main responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and carry out commissioning activities in line with project specifications and programme
- Prepare and review commissioning procedures, test plans and checklists
- Carry out functional testing, system checks and fault finding on installed equipment
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation
- Witness and record test results, and prepare commissioning reports and handover documentation
- Raise and track snag lists, punch items and technical queries through to close-out
- Liaise with project managers, design engineers, site teams, subcontractors and the customer
- Support site acceptance testing and the handover of completed systems
- Follow health, safety and environmental requirements on site and promote safe working practices
Requirements
- Proven experience in a commissioning engineer role or similar
- Strong technical understanding of electrical systems, testing and fault finding
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and test procedures
- Experience producing clear test records, commissioning reports and handover documentation
- Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to testing
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work with site teams, engineers and customers
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required
- Right to work in Switzerland
- Able to work from the Zurich location
