Job Description – Freelance Compliance Officer (Part-time)

Location: Amsterdam (Hybrid: 1 day on-site every 2 weeks)
Contract: Freelance – 6 months
Start date: ASAP
Workload: Part-time (2 days per week)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Compliance Officer to support an Amsterdam-based organization on a part-time basis. In this role, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), ensuring the organization remains compliant with relevant regulatory frameworks and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on GDPR, Privacy, DORA, and Sanctions regulations
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate them into practical policies and procedures
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and support mitigation strategies
• Support internal audits and regulatory reviews
• Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across the business
• Work independently while collaborating with Legal, Risk, and Operations teams

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Compliance role
• Strong knowledge of:
  • GDPR & Privacy regulations
  • DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act)
  • Sanctions frameworks
• Ability to operate autonomously and take ownership of compliance topics
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience within non-life insurance is a plus

Language Requirements

• Fluent in Dutch and English (both required)
