About the Client:
Our client is delivering a large-scale hyperscale data centre project in Germany and is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support the testing, commissioning, and handover of critical power infrastructure. This role will focus on generator systems, control systems, and electrical distribution equipment within a mission-critical environment.

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer with a strong background in power generation and critical infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning and testing generator systems, switchgear, and controls associated with a hyperscale data centre project.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Caterpillar generator systems, including CAT CX controls and CAT 3516 generators, along with exposure to MTU and/or Cummins engines. Experience with Siemens PLCs and ABB switchgear is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute commissioning and startup activities for critical power systems within a hyperscale data centre environment
• Commission, test, and troubleshoot Caterpillar generator systems, including CAT CX controls
• Perform functional testing and validation of CAT 3516 generator sets and associated equipment
• Commission and validate MTU and/or Cummins engine-driven generator systems
• Carry out testing and verification of ABB switchgear and power distribution systems
• Support commissioning and integration of Siemens PLC control systems
• Review commissioning procedures, test scripts, and technical documentation
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues during commissioning activities
• Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, project teams, and client representatives throughout the commissioning process
• Ensure all commissioning activities are completed safely and in accordance with project requirements and industry standards
• Prepare commissioning reports and support final system handover

Candidate Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience in commissioning power generation, critical infrastructure, or mission-critical facilities
• Strong experience with Caterpillar generator systems and CAT CX controls
• Hands-on experience commissioning CAT 3516 generator sets
• Experience working with MTU and/or Cummins engines
• Strong knowledge of ABB switchgear and electrical distribution systems
• Experience with Siemens PLC-based control systems
• Previous data centre commissioning experience preferred
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Fluent English required
• German language skills desirable
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced project environment
